Navy blue is so versatile – it can be used both as a neutral or an accent color. It’s the perfect substitute for black as it breathes elegance and class. navy blue also looks amazing on everyone!  While many dark colors can feel gloomy, navy is a staple hue that will spice up any outfit with its appealing and mysterious feel.  Reminiscent of the ocean, it’s a very relaxing color. Below are three looks that display how I’m incorporating navy into my wardrobe this fall.

In the outfit below, both the sweater and the skirt are made by French Connection. The navy felt hat was purchased last year, but I have it linked below in black.  Treasure and Bond has such great hats that are very reasonably priced. I love the over the knee brown boots with the navy suede mini and cream chunky sweater in this look.  Every piece is so versatile. You could wear the chunky sweater with jeans, these same boots or even sneakers. The skirt can be paired with a solid hoodie and sneakers for a more dressed down look. Not to mention, the outfit as worn below, is comfortable and perfect for a weekend getaway with your girlfriends or your beau!  Also, not to mention the Keepall 50 which is my “go to” weekend getaway bag!

Up next… I ‘m totally obsessed with pairing plaid with animal print.  I know… crazy idea, but mixing the two hottest things going right now for fall fashion makes this a show stopper. My pants and Sweater are from Zara and my sunglasses are made by Blue Planet and are eco-friendly.

Highlighting this brand because they deserve a shout out… Blue Planet is an eyewear company serious about philanthropy.  Having donated a half a million pairs of corrective sunglasses to those in need, the founder has pledged loyalty to other brands that have more than just profit as their purpose.  I can definitely stand behind Blue Planet and their mission.

Can I just say, “stunner” on all levels when it comes to this Theory blazer dress?!  I have been searching far and wide for a solid staple blazer dress, so when I saw this one made by Theory,  I was ecstatic and HAD to have it. Unfortunately, it is sold out everywhere, but I’ve linked some great additional options here , here and here. Three options, all at different prices to fit any budget.

Another new trend I am all about this year is socks with heels.  I never was one to wear stockings with open toed shoes (and am still not), but this trend I am a big fan of. I love the way these velvet color block socks go with the silver block sandals by Sam Edelman. Silver and navy is always a great color combo.

Navy blue is known for being a summer color nautical in nature, but this fall and winter it’s giving black a run for its money. Enjoy!
