If you haven’t noticed, animal print is here for Fall 2018 and rocked runways in both NYFW and PFW for Spring 2019. Animal print has long been a wardrobe staple for stylish women everywhere, but now it’s a must have. From luxe leopard of all colors and styles to sleek snake and bold zebra, there are endless options to take you to the wild side this season and into next spring.
To keep things new and fresh this year, designers and brands are taking animal print to new heights by using neon greens, deep reds and making leopard print loud by adding an 80’s twist with a 60’s flare. Despite the vibrancy, the cuts are sleek and modern and exuberate femininity and sexiness. Whether you’re on the prowl for a funky leopard print jacket or a cool snakeskin boot here are some fun options to elevate your wardrobe to the next level to bring out your animal instincts.
As far as I’m concerned leopard print is a neutral. I’ve always been a sucker for it and this year it’s dominating my wardrobe in a big way. As seen above, this Veronica Beard suit is an absolute head turner. The suit is tailored to fit the body like a glove. The jacket is made incredibly well and worth the investment – trust me. The matching pants are mid-rise with a straight leg and front seem to elongate the leg and hug your curves. I added the Veronica Beard silk top to add a pop of color and a super feminine one at that.
The animal print BLAZER is a must have this season. It can be worn with matching suit pants (if available) or with jeans, slacks or shorts and boots on a hot fall day. I’m thinking of mixing this coat with a red leather skirt to add a funky vibe! Below are some options that I found that can fit any style and budget.
The FAUX FUR COAT is another must have going into the cooler months. Bringing forward 1980’s glam, bold animal print coats are making us all “material girls” this winter. Bold and wild animal prints, big shoulders, cat eye glasses and thick gold jewelry makes us excited to be stuck in a time warp. Below are some fun faux-fur leopard coats I found in different types of silhouettes to fit any body.
- Frame (as worn above)
- BB Dakota
- Free People
- Helene Berman
- Kendall + Kylie
- The Kooples
- T Tahari
Finally, the leopard print DRESS. Walking the line between flashy and luxurious, I love this Alice + Olivia sheath dress. It fits like a dream. I paired it with a yellow robe coat and “popped” it with a purple velvet purse. I also plan to wear this with a form fitting black leather jacket for a more edgy look. Below are seven dresses I found that fit into various different wardrobes.
I hope you’ve enjoyed all of these fun ideas to bring out your animal instincts this season all the way into next spring! ROAR!
