This year, prepare to have your pick of more than a few “try worthy” trends. The following are the must-have fall boots that the street style scene has already been sporting in full force. So kick off those slides and step into the hottest boot trends of the season! From western styles dominating the runways, to utilitarian combat boots giving the traditional bootie a run for its money, and all the back to the classic over-the-knee boot, see how I have been wearing boots this year and what my favorite trends are for fall. All of these trends will be taking me into next year.

The ‘90s are officially back!  Having bought my first pair of Dr. Martins in sixth grade, I’m thrilled this trend has returned in full force. The boot has been re-vamped and modernized and there’s nothing better than wearing combat boots in fall. They are comfortable, warm, utilitarian and they look just down right cool!  Rock them with shorts and tights with a leather jacket, an animal print dress (shown below), a tailored plaid dress with a wool coat or black skinny jeans, a chunky sweater and jean jacket. Combat boots will add a funky edge to any outfit.

While utilitarian style combat boots were a surprise shoe choice this past summer with shorts and minis, now combat boots are being brought into the cooler months. For comfort and an added edge to your outfits, combat boots can be a great go-to style. In my outfits above, you’ll see that I have the best of both worlds with combat boots that are comfortable and chic. My two favorites are the Jadon Boot by Dr. Martins and the Waren by Marc Fisher

In addition to my favorites above, below are a few others you may be interested in!

Shearing-lined, heeled, and platformed hiking boots are in a class all their own. You can be a city slicker and still be inspired by these boots fit for scaling mountainous terrain. Whether you wear them on your next backpacking trip is up to you, but for the urban fashion scene, pair them with a filmy slip dress and denim jacket for a modern flair. Here I wear the “hiking boot” with the Veronica Beard red lace up heeled boot and Maje khaki dress.

Here are some more favorites…

  2. Happy Thoughts
  3. Free People
  4. Marc Jacobs
  5. Steve Madden

Welcome to the wild, wild west! On the Western boot front, there’s no escaping this major shoe trend.  Falls runway including Fendi, Calvin Klein and Chloe have championed the western street-style boot and it has officially hit the street style scene in a big way. The cowboy boot trend will pick up even more momentum transitioning into next spring.  The boots looks equally as cool with lighter color fabrics and floral maxi dresses. In the meantime, invest in a pair that can be worn with jeans, dresses, skirts and can transition from fall to winter and even into spring.

In the look below, I bring in the white and the metallic trend in the western boots.  Both of these verge on the subtle side when it comes to “Cowboy Boots” but are still stylish and chic. The white boots below are made by Dolce Vita and the metalic boots are by Veronica Beard.

Below are some other of my faves!…

  1. Jeffrey Campbell
  2. Free People
  3. Old Gringo
  4. Jeffrey Campbell

Well, if you haven’t been able to tell yet… animal print is my neutral this year. I’ve been wearing leopard, zebra, and snakeskin patterned everything.  These prints are huge this fall. If animal print sounds intimidating, the easiest way to get on board with this trend is by taking a walk on the wild side in animal print footwear.  Add a ferocious kick to your boot game by adding a fun animal print boot this season!

Here are some other fun options in various styles!…

  1. FP Collection
  2. Matisse
  3. Free People
  4. Marc Fisher
  5. Vince Camuto

White boots in winter?  It is a huge trend that has lasted from spring and summer and will continue into the new year. Throw out the old rules about not wearing white after Labor Day and consider adding a white-hot pair of boots to your shoe wardrobe. It’s a quick style fix. And after all, white goes with everything, right?

Mine above are Stuart Weitzman but I also have some others I love in different styles and heel type and height… see below;

  1. Leith
  2. Halogen
  3. Halogen
  4. Jeffrey Campbell
  5. Splendid

As you hunt for the perfect seasonal boot, try considering over-the-knee (OTK). These sleek boots are easy to wear with just about everything, including skirts and dresses and during colder weather you can simply pair with tights or leggings.  Need more convincing?  See how I’ve been rocking my Stuart Weitzman OTK boots below. Linked here in black and here in beige.

Since this trend has been in full force for years now, there are so many different options at various prices.  See some OTK boots in various prices, styles and colors below.
