Tres Chic… Here are five of my favorite looks to take on Capitol Hill and beyond this Winter. From designers such as Maje, Alice + Olivia, and Jay Godfrey, see how I’ve paired these looks to take you from the boardroom to your festive fete.
I absolutely love planning and pairing various designers to create one of a kind looks. No matter where you’re celebrating the holidays this season, these five ensembles will have all eyes on you at every event you attend.
Try a Double Breasted Blazer Dress
I love wearing white in winter, and wearing a blazer dress in winter white is undeniably sophisticated. I’ve been spotting blazer dresses everywhere lately! Some are styled how I have it above, and some are menswear-inspired with shoulder pads and a belt. Peep the embellished buttons on this Jay Godfrey piece… pair the dress or blazer with black or shimmery tights for extra warmth this winter.
Pair Your Shorts with Tights
For a more casual look, dress up a plaid mini (or skort in my case) with a half zip sweater perfect for holiday drinks with friends. Show some leg this winter! Complete the look with a chic wrap coat and over the knee boots.
Add an “Edge” to Your Black Suit
Go from your desk to a fete by strategically adding a fun skirt. This skirt by Maje is one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe. It brings forward some amazing lines along the legs. It’s extremely flattering. Add silk blouse to turn it up a notch.
Break Out Velvet
I love velvet, especially buttery velvet like the fabric on this Black Halo dress. Something I always keep in mind when wearing either a dress with a plunging neck or a mini… Don’t do both at the same time! If you’re wearing a mini dress, make sure it’s a high neck and if you’re wearing a plunging neck, opt for a dress that hits at or below the knee.
Make a Statement!
Statement sleeves are having a moment… And there’s no better time to take a look for a spin than at a holiday affair. I’ve paired this statement sleeve top with an Alice + Olivia skirt. Let’s be honest, the skirt should have its own moment sans the statement sleeve, but I love how the whole look vibes, especially when it’s worn for a party.
Be prepared to have all eyes on you in this look. The future is female!
